Staff at West Lothian Crematorium are taking steps to raise vital funds for Dementia UK by organising a fund-raising dance night for the charity.

Tickets are available now for a night of Ceilidh Dancing on Saturday 28 September at Middleton Hall Bowling Club in Uphall, from 7pm ‘til late.

The evening promises to be a fun-filled blend of dancing, games, raffles, music and more. A licenced bar and refreshments will be available.

Tickets cost £10 per person, which includes the buffet and raffle entry, and can be booked by calling 01506 415 028 or emailing westlothian@westerleighgroup.co.uk

West Lothian Crematorium is part of Westerleigh Group, one of the UK’s largest independent owners and operators of crematoria and cemeteries, with 40 sites in England, Scotland, and Wales, all set within beautifully landscaped gardens of remembrance which provide peaceful places for people to visit and reflect.

Westerleigh Group prides itself on providing exceptional care to the bereaved, the standards of which are inspected by the Scottish Government and the Federation of Burial and Cremation Authorities (FBCA) in England and Wales.

Westerleigh Group named Dementia UK as its corporate charity partner in 2023 and has pledged to raise a total of £300,000 for the charity over a two-year period.

West Lothian Crematorium Manager Carole Rae said: “We know that the charity shares our core values of providing exceptional care to the families it supports, not just in our local communities but throughout the UK.

“Sadly, someone in the UK develops dementia every three minutes, so the valuable support provided by the charity is needed now more than ever.

“Our Ceilidh evening on 28 September offers a chance for people to come together and have a lot of fun while at the same time helping an organisation which makes a positive difference to so many people.

“Tickets are on sale now and we look forward to seeing lots of people enjoying themselves and taking to the dancefloor, all for a very good cause.”
